I upgraded to iTracks 3 today and have run into a problem. All of my actions show up correctly but they are under the wrong context heading on the main page. If I drill down to the description page both the context and project are listed correctly. I have completely un-installed and reinstalled the application from my iPhone (rebooting in the process). I checked the xml feeds from my install (Tracks 1.7.1 running on Linux/Apache) and the data appears to be coming out of the system correctly.
Any ideas on what to look at next?

tracks.tra.in is on 1.7.1. So I think we are on the same tracks version here. Is it only happening with one particular context? Could you try adding new tasks under a new category and see if that one show up correctly. It would be great if I could get hold of the xml feed so that I can test this locally.

congrats for the app. I’ve tried it on my ipad, but no luck. I’m running the latest git version, so that may be the problem. It craches on startup.

uh oh! The app was not built for iPad. But the idea was that it could run in compatibility mode. Are you able to point it at tracks.tra.in and use the dummy account? (gwbush/no password).

it does not start up at all, so I cannot change the settings… I’ll try removing the app and re-adding it

@Reinier: Did re-installing the app fix the issue?

Launch application > New Task > tap Context > Crash
Repeatable for me (a dozen crashes in a row), iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 tracks 1.7.1.
Edit: Using the demo/test account provided earlier works fine. I just can’t add a task to a fresh instance on my own Tracks 1.7.1 server. Weird.

Is it possible that there are no contexts. I have a local installation of tracks. I’ll update it to 1.7.1 and try it out tonight.

There were none, so I made some. Then I had to “logout” and then “login” again before they’d show up.
I created a new task on the iPhone and it didn’t show up in Tracks web until I hit the “reload” icon in the top left corner.
I’ve already spent more time on this than I should have, where can I keep up with development efforts?

I tried uninstalling and installing again. Now iTracks starts up and I can re-enter server/userid/passwd for my server that runs latest tracks from git. It start downloading, but never finish. After that, I cannot start iTracks again, it will just crash while starting.
I have several contexts, projects and todos in it. perhaps too much?

I am working with a locally hosted version of Tracks. I haven’t seen any issues yet.
@Reinier: The application is designed to handle huge databases, especially with the Core Data backend. Downloading not finishing could mean that the request to the server is not returning any response. The database is corrupt and thats causing the application to crash. Unfortunately, at this point you will need to reinstall. I’ll put in a check for this kind of data corruption and see if I can log out the user (instead of crashing) in the next release. Thanks for your patience.
@emory: Sorry that the app is not stable on your phone. Is it ok if I ping you for the next beta test cycle? I did not get a lot of iPhone 4 testing in the last release.

Hi,
I am experiencing the same issue where categories are all jumbled up. The categories are right, none are missing, but the tasks are not being grouped at all :( They seem to be randomly put together under random category names.
Any new regarding this? It sort of prevents iTracks from being useful :(

@mr_daemon: Are you using a locally hosted version of Tracks? Is this version available publicly so that I can try to debug this issue? Thanks for your help.

I was able to reproduce the jumbled category issue using the latest simulator. I’ll fix this issue asap. Thanks for your feedback.
