Hi—Just installed Tracks on Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 (Tracks 1.043, Ruby 1.8.4, WEBrick, mysql, running on an Athlon XP 1600)

Create New Context and Create New Project both fail with a ‘Recognition failed for “/context_new”’ or ‘Recognition failed for “/project_new”’ error. This happens with the admin account using the sample data, and it happens in an account I created for my use, which currently has no data (because I can’t add projects or contexts).

How do I troubleshoot this?

Many thanks—

Someone had the same problem as this on Windows XP and it turned out to be a problem with Javascript not being enabled on the browser. If you’re using Firefox, can you check that you’ve got Javascript enabled, and that you don’t have any javascript-blocking extensions like Noscript installed.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou! That was it. (I apologize for not having found the earlier report of the problem; I *did* honestly look for one before I posted.)

Now to get my stuff on Tracks ...

Thanks again!

You’re welcome. It was in the tickets, so it’s not surprising you didn’t find it.

Maybe a future version could detect whether Javascript was disabled and tell the user to enable it. This would probably be a low priority enhancement, but it also would probably be easy to implement (I think—because, although I know absolutely nothing about Javascript except how to spell it, I’ve seen this functionality all over the place).

Thanks again for Tracks! I’m having fun with it, and Getting Things Done with it ... and those are both “wins” in my book.
